Hey all!

As of right now I have a poor trend on updating my blog every three months during this preparation season. I promise on the World Race you will hear from me a lot more! As for today I just wanted to answer some of the common questions I have been asked and maybe you have been wondering.

#1. When am I leaving? I leave on October 3rd of 2019 and return the first week of September in 2020. I have had a couple route changes and these are the countries I will be going to. Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Togo, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Nepal, India, Myanmar, Thailand, and Malaysia! My team (Squad Z) will be spending one month in each country!

#2. When am I getting married? If you didn’t know Eli and I engaged! First, YIPPIE! I’m still so excited that Elija and I are engaged! As of right now we have a loose date set. We are keeping it loose in case we want to move it forward or push it back. Currently we are keeping it top secret! (; When I return in the fall of 2020 I will need time to readjust and process the World Race. This is a huge growing season! Jesus is going to stretch, grow, and challenge me (and Eli too). Returning home from missions can be challenging. It will be hard enough to come home and not jump into full wedding planning mode. I (and we) will probably be spending the rest of 2020 processing and seeking the Lord on the next steps we need to take! I will tell you that we will be getting married in 2021 (There is no way we will want to wait that much longer :)..Think Spring or early summer… okay no more hints!) The Lord has perfect timing and we are excited. Also, yes I’m going to miss the heck out of Eli!

#3. How is fundraising? It’s great, slow, crazy, can be overwhelming, and so cool at once! I still have a ways to go. My next due date is $10,000 funded in September and $13,000 funded in November! Please be in prayer for my team and I! Seriously though, Jesus is so cool and He does provide! With out your support this is not possible!

#4. What will I be doing on the Race? Honestly I can’t share the fine details, because I won’t know all of them until I arrive at the ministry sites we are partnering with. Our main focus may seem obvious, but spreading the Gospel, the love, and simply being the hands and feet of Jesus is our priority. As of right now I can only give you an idea of what I might be doing in each country. Peru- partnering with our host in planting Christ centered communities in the jungle. Bolivia- partnering with local pastors and ministering to unreached villages. Argentina- partnering with YWAM. An outreach to youth. Togo- planting churches. Ghana- building relationships and sharing the freedom of Christ. Nepal- sharing the Gospel to marginalized people in rural areas. India- partnering with a ministry that has a goal of starting 100,000 churches in India. Myanmar- Opened to the public only 10 years ago we will partner with a long term ministry base and continue to share the Gospel. Thailand- Sex trafficking is huge in this country. From bar ministry to praying along the streets. Finally Malaysia- Working with refugees and teaching English. Again, all of this this will truly vary, but I wanted to give you an idea on what our team will be doing. Beyond the practical things we will also be encouraging, empowering, and believing for total restoration and healing for the lives around us. The places we will be going to have a deep need for the Father’s love and hope. I really hope you subscribe to my blog so I can share with you exactly what the Lord is doing in the lives around me and in my own heart!

If you have anymore questions please free feel to contact me! I would love to answer them! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Again, please be in prayer for my team and I. Pray that we will be fully funded by our due dates, and more importantly please pray for the people we will encounter on our Race. That chains will be broken, lives will be changed, and hearts will be set free.

Love Maia
