I wanted to give you all a brief update about where I am headed today.
Spark-Notes version.
Most of you know I began my World Race in October of 2019. Half way through the race I was pulled off the field due to COVID-19. Since I didn’t fully finish the race I had some left over funds. Not much, since most of our flights and lodging had been purchased in advance.
So today I am headed to the Dominican Republic with those leftover funds! I will be returning on July 24th! I have not been very public about my trip, so not many people know. However, I feel it’s important to honor my supporters! Plus, I just love ALL OF YOU! The exciting news is, I am fully funded, but prayer is always needed! Please be praying for my team and I this week! And of course and most importantly, our outreach.
In a nutshell, we are hosting a Beauty for Ashes retreat. If you would like to know what a retreat looks like/what we do, I would highly recommend going to Adventures In Missions main website and clicking on the Beauty for Ashes about page.
However (spark-notes version), we are hosting a women’s retreat at a pregnancy center that we have partnered with. Many of the women are below the poverty line, ages ranging from 14-40, and often pregnant out of wed-lock or victims of domestic violence. Our goal is to host a retreat to teach them that their stories matter, on identity, worth, forgiveness, and foster healthy community. We know Holy Spirit will do what He does! Our prayer is to partner with God in this community and watch these women step into a deeper healing/freedom!
