Hello,

I'm Maia! For starters thank you for reading my bio and I hope you are having a blessed day! So lets jump on into my story. I am from a small town in southeast Iowa. Keokuk has been my home for seventeen years! I have a twin sister, who by the way looks nothing like me, superwoman is my mom (she is just one amazing woman), and I have an amazing dad! My cat, Max, he is pretty cool too. 

I met the Lord when I was 16, and well, as you can imagine He has kind of flipped my world upside down (in the VERY best way). Shortly after meeting my sweet Jesus I became fascinated with mission trips. So fascinated, I googled "mission trips" and the World Race popped up! While reading about it my heart began racing and then quickly stopped when I read I wasn't old enough. Bummer. Except Jesus still had a wonderful plan. I graduated high school in 2016 and that fall I went to Nicaragua (through Adventures) for three months. Jesus kind of wrecked my world again, and gosh that was such a sweet season. 

This past summer (June 2018) I went on a Beauty for Ashes trip to India. This was also through Adventures in Missions. We held a retreat for women and showed them that their stories matter. I love India and adore the women and friends I made on that trip. When I left India, I knew I would come back. On my World Race route, India is one of the countries we will be going to. Praise Jesus!

I just LOVE people. I would say I'm pretty passionate about it too! Naturally since I love people I rather enjoy hosting parties, small get togethers, have board game nights, and all the things to do with hospitality! I'm a people person and want to get to know everyone! My go-to question is "how is your heart?" because why sit on surface level conversations when we can dive deep into our hearts and souls. Did I mention I'm a huge goofball? Yeah, that too! I'm also just kind of weird. (: 

A few more things about me, I am an artist. I love to paint, illustrate, doodle, draw, and I enjoy hand lettering. Art is something I am always growing in. I'm totally a doodler at heart and I simply love to create. I am an extrovert that has a lot of energy! I love peppermint tea, cows, wild flowers, hiking, adventures, and I love to be spontaneous.  I have this biggest sweet tooth, I love coffee (especially in large mugs), I love to sit and marvel at the Lord's creation, and I love HUGS! 

Honestly, I just love Jesus and I want the world to know that Jesus loves them too. So much that He would die in all of our places. I want that hungry to be fed, and the poor to be rich in Christ. I want the hopeless to know there is hope, an unshakable hope. I want to see dry bones come alive and hearts changed. My own heart too. Most importantly I want the infectious joy of the Good News to spread to every corner, every ear, every nation, and every tongue.
